The interstate provides an efficient way for people to travel longer distances at a faster speed. In Louisiana, a recent fatal motor vehicle collision caused one part of the roadway to be closed for several hours. The early morning crash involved four separate vehicles. The victims of this fatal accident have the right to seek compensation and file claims.
The series of collisions began when one driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and struck a guardrail. The impact sent this car back into the flow of traffic and into the path of another vehicle. This second automobile was then struck by a third. The driver of the second vehicle got out and was tragically hit by a fourth vehicle.
This victim was declared dead at the scene of the accident by officials. Three other passengers did not suffer any major injuries through the course of the crash; though their vehicles did sustain some damage. One other passenger had to be transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and remains in critical condition.
Those victims who suffered damages have the right to take action. If negligence or recklessness is proved, the victim injured also has the right to file civil claims for his or her personal injury. Furthermore, the family members of the man who lost his life have the right to file claims for his wrongful death. With the assistance of Louisiana family law professionals, these claims could result in potential compensation if successfully litigated. The victims of a fatal accident or other car crashes have resources available to them as they seek to take action.
